SILVIO RANIERI - Mandolinist, Conductor and Composer.

Hello Everyone, I'm very pleased to be able to let you experience the playing of the famous mandolin virtuoso Silvio RANIERI. He plays "Le Cygne" (The Swan) by C. Saint-Saens on mandolin, accompanied by piano, in Brussels ca. 1930.

Please use heaphones or connect to a hiFi system for better sound quality. Thanks for watching/listening! Ralf.

In this video you can listen to some recordings of Silvio Ranieri's mandolin orchestra in the 1920s in Brussels. Although it is an old recording, you can still hear the exquisite sound of the incredible instruments they used: at least 14 people play an Embergher 5bis concert model. These instruments were nearly brand new in those days!
